For mamas-to-be in North Austin and all over Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Hutto, Round Rock and Georgetown, Brushy Creek Park is easy to find and easy to reach just off West Parmer Lane (even during rush hour), and once you arrive, easy to navigate. A lot of parks in and around Austin and Cedar Park make great photo spots, but if parking is a nightmare, it just makes your picture day that much more stressful. Unlike many of the other favorite park locations, parking is a non-issue. There is a parking lot just steps away from where we typically start shooting. It’s free. It’s paved. Enough said.

Brushy Creek is a sprawling green space which includes a huge variety of natural elements for your session from open fields, expansive wildflower zones, wooded areas, vines, a flowing creek, rocky landscapes and natural trails. Couple this variety with an iron bridge and a beautiful sunset, and the possibilities for a wide variety of backdrops in a really stunning hill country landscape are endless, and all within walking distance — even when you’re very pregnant. Throughout all four seasons of the year, the changing trees and vegetation bring new beauty around every turn. Cloudy winter days and bare trees make lovely moody landscapes. Spring brings a sea of bluebonnets which eventually yield to sprawling wildflower fields of yellows, light pinks, purples and reds. Once you realize what a great spot this is, Brushy Creek could very easily become your go-to photo location. For very pregnant moms-to-be, this is as stress-free as any outdoor space we know. Little kids in tow? This is an easy stop to let the kids play on the playground or run along the trails as a reward for smiling for the camera. Grandparents joining? There’s beautiful hill country scenery just a few steps from the parking area to make it accessible. For over a decade, this has been our top spot, and we just keep coming back.
